Modern Dental Implants

Dental Implants-"A Modern Miracle"

A dental implant is designed to replace a single tooth and composed of three parts: the titanium implant that fuses with the jawbone; the abutment, which fits over the portion of the implant that protrudes from the gum line; and the crown, which is created by a prosthetic dentist and fitted onto the abutment for a natural appearance.

Further, conventional dentures may contribute to the loss of bone in the area where teeth are missing. The presence of natural teeth preserves the jawbone. When a tooth is missing the bone may erode and weaken until it may be necessary for an implantologist to graft bone to the area to strengthen it for placement of a dental implant. When a missing tooth is replaced by a dental implant, the fusion, or osseointegration, of the implant and bone provides stability, just as the natural tooth did.

If you are missing several teeth in the same area of your mouth, you may still enjoy the confidence and lifestyle benefits that come with dental implants. Your implantologist will place two or more dental implants, depending on the number of teeth that are missing. Your replacement teeth will be attached to the implants to allow excellent function and prevent bone loss. The implants will serve as a stable support that locks into your replacement teeth and dentures to prevent slipping and bone loss.

With an overall success rate of about 98% and almost 50 years of clinical research to back them up, dental implants are frequently the best treatment option for replacing missing teeth.

Nobel Biocare All-on-4

"Teeth that DON'T come out"

All on 4 is a new technique in the United States but has been done for many years with great success in Europe.  This technique uses fewer implants that are placed at mechanical inclinations to maximize support.  Fewer implants means lower cost.  The use of angled implant placement allows Smile Implant Center to avoid anatomical areas that previously required bone grafting.  Eliminating the need for bone grafting saves months in healing and thousands of dollars.  There is no waiting for the surgical guide to be made.  Smile Implant Center can perform surgery on Monday and place teeth later the same day if you wish.  The All on 4™ option provides a comparable long term outcome by allowing a solid base to attach teeth that does not have to be removed.  All-on-4 saves time, money, and Smile Implant Center has this option available for our patients.

The All-on-4 procedure is an Immediate Function procedure that is attractive to people with dentures or in need of full upper and/or lower restorations. With the All-on-4 procedure, after initial work-up, qualified patients receive just four Implants and a full set of new replacement teeth in just one appointment...without bone grafts! The real appeal is how quickly dentures can be replaced with permanent Implants and fixed, non-removable new replacement teeth. For qualified patients, Smile Implant Super Center is a leader in delivering the All-on-4 procedure for restoring a full arch of upper and/or lower teeth. Unlike other approaches that use 6, 8, or even more Implants and often involve bone grafting, Smile Implant Super Center uses a proven technique that involves only four specially placed Implants, without bone grafts and has a success rate equal to more traditional approaches. The All-on-4 technique was pioneered in Europe and is now FDA and CE approved.
